Training

Foundation Courses are running continuously (i.e., when the exam for one has taken place, a new course starts usually the week after). Intermediate courses are run three to four times a year and the Advanced Course runs every year, usually starting in April or May with a target of the December or January exam. We regularly train students from well outside our immediate area (for example, we have recently successfully trained students from in excess of 100 miles away who all came to our club because they had heard of our reputation). We do NOT create exam-passers, we strive to create good radio amateurs.

We are very proud to announce that we recently received a letter from the RSGB’s General Manager,
Graham Coomber GØNBI, stating that when it comes to Amateur Radio Licence Training successes,
we are in the top 20 clubs in the UK. Graham was responding to a brief issued by the RSGB
Board.

The training team comprises Five RSGB/RCF registered instructors:
Darryl Burden MØLDI (Instructor, Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced)
Colin Greenwood MØHRM (Instructor, Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced)
Mick Leveridge MØLEV (Instructor, Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced)
Dr. David Sadler-Lockwood G4CLI (Instructor, Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced)
Stu Adaway MØTNG (Instructor, Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced)
